We’re excited to announce that we’ve moved onto our new farm and we’re currently going through the usda organic certification process. This piece of land has never been farmed for crops and has been grazed by elk, deer, cattle and horses for as long as anyone can remember. Because of this, our soil is teeming with life and we intend to keep it that way. We will not be following traditional farming concepts like using salts, over tilling and depleting our land. We will only till where necessary in order to preserve microbial life. We will be diligently working to maintain the fertility of the soil and will be attempting to create all farm inputs on our farm. This is a long and difficult process, but we’re committed to being part of the solution. The farm is located in Shawnee CO, up by the continental divide. This is a special piece of land with a lot of history and we hold senior water rights off the Platte River. This means that all of our irrigation water comes from Guanella Pass and Lake Dillon. Both of these water sheds are 100% snow melt. Because we are so close to the sources, our water is as clean as water gets.
